LET’S ACKNOWLEDGE GOD FOR WHO HE IS IN OUR LIFE: (Prov. 3:6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. You are the Lamb of God, Advocate, Lord of Lords, Living Water, Author and Finisher of our Faith, First and the Last, our Soon Coming King, Redeemer, Healer and Deliverer, Way the Truth and the Life, Shepherd an Bishop of My Soul.

LET EVERYONE THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE FOR US.

Thank You for meeting every need out of Your RICHES IN GLORY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST (Phil. 4:19). Thank You for every blessing known and unknown, and for showering down blessings so great that we cannot receive them (Mal. 3:10). DEAR HEAVENLY AND GRACIOUS FATHER, thank You for divine health: mental, physical, spiritual and material. Thank You for the restoration of our bodies and souls. Thank You for every provision. In Jesus name. Amen

Repentance: I John 1:9, 2 Chron. 7:14

Father, we confess our iniquities and the iniquities of our fathers for we have transgressed against thee. We repent and renounce all of sins deliberate, inadvertent, known and unknown, secret sins, presumptuous sins, sins of commission and omission, in Jesus name.

Today Father, we stand in the gap and make up the hedge for America. We repent for all our sins and the sins of our ancestors, have mercy on us in the name of Jesus. Eze. 22:30
We acknowledge O Lord our wickedness and the iniquities of our fathers for we have sinned against thee. Do not abhor us for thy name sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory, remember, break not they covenant with us, in the name of Jesus.
Lord, release your arm and bring salvation as we seek to turn from our wicked ways, in the name of Jesus. Isa. 41:16
Father, as you correct this nation with judgment, let it not be with anger, in the name of Jesus. Jer. 10:24
From this day forward, Lord, help us to run with velocity, in the name of Jesus.

– As we go into this battle, we cover ourselves and everything concerning us with the blood of Jesus.

– We ask you Father to release 12 legions of angels and the Seven-fold Spirits of God to assist us in this battle as we stand on Hebrews 4:12. With the sword of the Spirit, we ask you to divide soul and spirit of everyone on this prayer line and deliver us, in Jesus name.

– We declare and decree that no plague or calamity shall come nigh our dwelling or our family from the heavenlies, from the atmosphere, from under the earth or from under the waters, in the Mighty name of Jesus.

– We are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, far above principalities, powers and rulers of the darkness of this world. We renounce Satan and put him on notice that we are attacking his kingdom from the power of the third heaven.

– Jesus Christ has already spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly. Col. 2: 15. We decree no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

– We give Satan his eviction notice and declare that his banners, scrolls and plans are burned to ashes, in the name of Jesus.

– We curse every evil alter and call down the fire of God to burn them to ashes. In the name of Jesus.

Father release your hand of judgment upon every power militating against us in Jesus name.

– We release this deliverance session to the leading of the Holy Spirit to heal us and deliver us, in the name of Jesus.

– We forbid any transference of spirits from ministers or anyone on this prayer line to anyone in the name of Jesus.

– Anoint Yourself with oil. (Keep handy to assist with stubborn situations)

– We bind all strongholds of Fear, Doubt and Unbelief, Distraction, Oppression, Blocked Receiving of the Word, Spirits of Offense, Suspicion, Discouragement, etc.)

– O Lord my Father be with our mouths as we deliver this message in Jesus name Ex. 4:12

– We give you all the praise and glory right now, in the name of Jesus.

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Barnes Commentary (Excerpts)

Thou must not keep company with the wicked but converse always with good men. With such eat, drink and associate, those who have greatest virtue. From good men thou mayest learn good things but if thou keep company with the wicked, thou wilt lose even the intelligence which thou now possesseth.

Evil Communication: means being together. It has to do with companionship, close contact, converse with. It refers not to discourse only but to contact. In this passage, Paul refers to that when Christians embrace false doctrines, they lose their spirituality, love for prayer, fervor of piety and devotion to God. It is in this way that the simple are beguiled, the young are corrupted and the vice, and crime and infidelity spread over the world. God is just in all his ways. As we pursue our deliverance, God has been gracious to show us areas that we need to deal with. If you have found an area in your life that you don’t seem to be getting your breakthrough then, maybe this testimony will help you.

Those of you on this Prayer Line are familiar with our testimony. We started out this ministry after searching for many years, the full gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout our Christian walk, we went to several churches seeking deliverance. At that time, we didn’t have much knowledge about the seriousness of pastors laying hands on you. Some were deliverance ministers, teachers, etc. After 37 lessons of deliverance, I began to struggle in my prayer life and couldn’t understand what was hindering me. Recently, the Lord had me to revisit all the pastors that laid hands on me. Then I began to understand what was blocking me. In my younger years, the first pastor was incesting his daughter, the next did drugs before becoming a preacher with no deliverance, the next one refused to follow God’s instructions to leave his job to work ministry full time, the next pastor was a deliverance minister but had a steel will, the next pastor was a former warlock and laid hands on myself and husband several times.

When we looked at all of this, we see there was lots of transference of the wrong things. I began pacing my floor declaring and decreeing:

1. I renounce Pastor _______________’s Bondage.

2. I will not carry Pastor _______________’Bondage, in the name of Jesus.

3. I break your power, possession, and authority over my life, in the name of Jesus.

4. I destroy your works in my life, in the name of Jesus.

I did this for an hour and a half and began feeling freer in my spirit. There is a lot more to do and we encourage you to evaluate your life’s journey and to begin doing the same. Include John and Mary to your list as well. We are not putting anyone down by any means. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We need deliverance in our lives and will be practicing deliverance until Jesus comes. 1. SCRIPTURE (EXCERPTS)

Ex. 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments (The magicians matched the rod turned into a serpent, river turned into blood and creating frogs by their secret arts).

Ex. 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live (God said that witches were to be put to death. This is an indication of their destructive power).

Lev. 19:26 Ye shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times (Eating and drinking blood is spiritually defiling. Only seek God for hidden knowledge).

Lev. 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God (This is occultism and spiritually defiling).

Lev. 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people (God said that this sin of spiritual adultery is punishable by death).

Lev. 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them (This is spiritual prostitution punishable by physical and spiritual death).

Num. 23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! (Obedience to God and The Bible, and not sinning is your only protection.)

Deut. 18:10-11 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (These are magic practices and spiritism).

I Sam. 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king (Rebellion against God is witchcraft; witchcraft which is punishable by death. What about certain things that Christians suffer? Could some of them be caused by rebellion?).

Sam. 28:7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor (This is necromancy – seance).

Kings 17:17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger (This is enchantments – divination – wizardry).

II Kings 21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger (God’s anger is directed at those who practice witchcraft).

II Chron. 28:3 Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel (These abominable practices of the nation’s provoke God to anger).

II Chron. 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger (This is enchantments – witchcraft).

Isa. 2:6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers (These are diviners – soothsayers who strike hands).

Isa. 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? (This is communication with the dead).

Isa. 19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards (This is to put a spell upon).

Isa. 44:25 That frustrateth the tokens of the lairs, and maketh diviners mad: that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish (These people may lose their minds).

Isa. 47:9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments (Death comes from sorcery and enchantment).

Jer. 27:9 Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, not to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon (This is enchantments – divination).

Jer. 29:8 For thus saith the LORD of host, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed (This is enchantments – divination).

Eze. 13:17-23 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them. And say, Thus saith the LORD GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? Wherefore thus saith the LORD GOD; Behold I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly. Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (This includes sadness, backsliding, capture, death and eternal damnation.)

Dan. 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm (This is enchantments – astrology).

Dan. 2:10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean (This is astrology). Dan. 4:7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof (This is astrology).

Mic. 5:12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers (This is God’s attitude towards witchcraft).

Nah. 3:4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts (Witchcraft controlled nations and families).

Zech. 10:2 For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd (This is harlotry brought from Egypt).

Mal. 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts (God will judge these practices).

Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it (Satan has been given tremendous power over the earth and its kingdom. Amplified Bible says all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace of the kingdom).

Acts 8:9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which before time in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one (Simon practiced magic and controlled the City of Samaria).

Acts 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying (The power of divination and fortune telling).

Acts 19:19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver (The power of people buying occult books. I had a book burning to get rid of books that should not have been in my library).

Rom. 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation (Rebellion against God will cause your damnation).

II Cor. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (Satan has the power to blind. Many Christians are partially blinded).

Gal. 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatory, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Not only witchcraft, but these other sins can send you to Hell).

Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (Christians can depart from the faith).

Tim. 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith (Men opposed the truth will oppose Christianity).

Rev. 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden (There is a great depth to the evil system of Satan).

Rev. 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held (Satan has the power to kill when God does not protect you).

Rev. 9:20-21 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts (They were worshipping demons and idols, and committing other sins).

Rev. 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat and great authority (Satan has great authority and he can give it to whom he chooses).

Rev. 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth: for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived (Merchants practiced witchcraft and deceived nations).

Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the and abominable, murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in Hell: which is the second death (If you practice these, then you will be cast into the lake which burns with fire and brimstone).

Rev. 22:15 For without are dogs (homosexuals and lesbians), and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie (These are without the Kingdom of Heaven, i.e., in Hell).

We will look at some of the following scriptures that reflect Satan’s power and make some brief comments on them.

2. EXCERPTS OF SCRIPTURE OF SATAN’S POWER

Magicians of Egypt also did in like manner with their enchantments.

Ex. 7:11-13 refers to the magicians of Egypt practicing all forms of sorcery and engaged in their many enchantments and lying wonders. .Dan. 2:13, Ex. 8:19, Gen. 41:8, Ex. 7:22
Bible Commentary on Ex. 7:11 Shows that the three names for the magicians of Egypt given in this verse. “The Wise Men” or Men who know occult arts.
The Sorcerers” are they who mutter magic formulae, especially when driving away crocodiles, snakes, asps, etc.
It was natural for Pharaoh to send for such people.
The “Magicians” and enchanters are the “Bearers of Sacred Words” scribes and interpreters of hieroglyphic writings.
Books containing formulae belonged exclusively to the king, no one was permitted to consult them but the priest and wise men, who formed a counsel or college, and were called in by the Pharaoh on all occasions of difficulty.
The names of the two principle magicians, are Jannes and Jambres, who “withstood Moses” were taken note of by Paul. 2 Tim. 3:8 Both names are of Egyptian origin.
Enchantment: The original expression implies a deceptive appearance, an illusion, a juggler’s trick, and not an actual putting forth of magic power.
Pharaoh is seen also calling the wise men and the sorcerers. His presumed objective in calling them was to ascertain whether this doing of Aaron’s was really a work of divine power or merely a feat of magical art.
The miracle which followed shown in Ex. 7:12 was sufficient to convince him, had he been open to conviction. (He had a hardened heart)
It was a miracle which showed the truth and power of Yahweh in contrast with that of witchcraft powers.

2. Suffer not a witch to live. Ex. 22:18 Benson’s and Barnes Commentaries

We see in this scripture that witchcraft not only gives that honor to the devil which is due to God alone, but is in defiance to the divine providence, wages war with God’s government, puts his work into the devil’s hands, expecting him to do good and evil, by our law, consulting, covenanting with, invocating, or employing any evil spirit to any intent, whatever, and exercising any enchantment, charm, or sorcery, whereby hurt shall be done to any person is tantamount to a felony, without the benefit of clergy; also pretending to tell where goods lost or stolen may be found is an iniquity, punishable by the judge and the second offense with death.

SOME SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF WITCHCRAFT IN OPERATION

2 Kings 9:22-24 which says when Joran saw Jehu, he said, is it peace Jehu! And the response was What peace, so long as the WHOREDOMS (the practice of whoring, prostitution, faithlessness, unworthiness, or idolatrous practices or pursuits) of thy mother Jezebel AND HER WHOREDOMS ARE SO MANY.
I Chron. 10:13 tells us that Saul died for his transgressions against the Lord – for he kept not God’s word – sought counsel from a familiar spirit – not of the Lord. In short, he got caught up in witchcraft.
The above scripture is making clear that the practices of witches or witchcraft are abominable practices and that such practitioners should be put to death as explained above.

3. These are short statements taken from Ezek. 13:17-23.

Hunt the souls of my people. Save the souls alive that come unto you. Pollute me among my people. Slay the souls that should not die. Save the souls alive that should not live. Made the heart of the righteous sad. Strengthen the hands of the wicked.
Vs. 17 As seen in (Ezek. 4:3, 20:46, 21:2) Here God instructs Ezekiel to put on a bold countenance and to fearlessly denounce them. (Ezek. 3:8,9; Isa. 57). Here we note that the formula “YOUR PEOPLE” of Ezek. 3:11 (“Go to the exiles to the sons of your people, and speak to them and tell them, whether they listen or not, “thus saith the Lord God”) reappears. These individuals a prophesying from their own inspiration, (literally from their “heart”) God is telling Ezekiel to prophesy against them (2 Peter 2:1, Rev. 2:20) for the source of their inspiration was their own wicked heart.
Barnes Notes that most ancient interpreters and many modern one have understood the pillows “or charms” and “kerchiefs” (or veils), are paraphernalia to which the sorcerers resort to in order to attract notice. The veil was a conspicuous ornament in the east. It was worn by magicians in order to seem more mysterious and awful. The activities attributed to these women who called themselves prophets or prophetesses were more like witches and sorcerers and fortune tellers. The veils were long drapes that were placed on their heads and that covered the prophetess’s bodies, possibly to convey the impression of mystery. The magic bands and veils probably served to ensnare people (“souls”) and that these methods were especially effective in times of uncertainty and turmoil, when frauds and charlatans seem to prey on the fears of the gullible.
Vs. 19 Barnes Comments: And will ye profane my name (among my people for a handful of barley and pieces of bread to slay the souls that should not die, and to keep alive “the souls that should not live, by lying to my people” who listen to “a lie?” The NLT: you turn my people away for a few handfuls of barley or a piece of bread. By lying to my people who love to listen to lies. You kill those who should not die and you promise life to those who should not live. You have profaned me to my people (defiled, pollute, desecrate). Ezek. 22:26, 20:39

To pollute or profane: is the opposite of to sanctify.
It is to bring God down to the sphere of the common, the false, the unworthy.
Some commentators interpret the barley and bread as used in divination while others interpret this as payment for the divination.
In some cultures, barley was used in occult practices even as an offering to the spirits or as a means of trying to determine the future.
Whatever the case, these prophetesses were employing fraudulent practices as a hoax and were making a living off the fears of others.
These prophetesses were lying to my people. Their lies profaned him as they pretended to be speaking for him.
It would be right to say from the above by way of summary comment that all the above includes, backsliding, capture, death and eternal damnation to all those involved and practitioners of witchcraft.
Vs. 20 Barnes Commentary Notes, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold I will come upon your charms where ye are ensnaring the souls like birds and I will tear them from your arms and let the souls go free, even the souls which ye are ensnaring like birds.
Vs. 21 Barnes “Your veils will I also tear and deliver my people from out of your hand and they shall be no more in your hands to be ensnared; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.” I will tear off your veils and deliver my people from your hands: your many evil tricks will be exposed to the contempt of the people. They will no longer be in your hands to be hunted and ensnared and deceived by you and you will know that I am the Lord.
Vs. 22 Because you are disheartened (“paining the heart”) the righteous with falsehood when I did not cause him grief (to feel pain) (Ezek. 9:4, Jer. 4:10, 14:13-17). Here God describes the ministry of these false prophetesses and its evil effects.
The following scripture show that these wicked practitioners encouraged the wicked not to turn from his wicked way (Jer. 23:14, 27, 14-17)
This is similar to the lamentation that the false prophets have not exposed your iniquity so as to restore you from captivity (Lamentation 2:24).
They had encouraged the wicked to expect a bright future and saw no need to repent to avoid death.
Vs. 23 Is referring to Jesus saying that I am the Lord, you women will no long see false visions and practice divination (Ezek. 3:6-16, 12:24, Due. 18:20).
The God of truth and rectitude declared himself opposed to these seducers of his people.
When God judged the prophetesses, the people would realize that these women had lied and the prophetesses would be forced to admit their sin against the Lord. Once again, we note that judgment was designed to bring people to the knowledge of Jehovah. (Ezek. 13:9, 21; 14:8; 15:7)

4. Sell nations through whoredoms, and families through witchcrafts. Nahum 3:4

Refers to witches (well favored harlots, the mistress of witchcraft, selling nations through whoredoms and families through witchcraft).
Other scriptures supportive of above are: Isa. 23:17 pp It shall come to pass after seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre and she shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world. Isa. 47:9 pp. Two things shall come upon thee, the loss of children and widowhood, they shall come upon thee for the multitude of thy sorceries and the abundance of thy enchantments.
Satan’s power/his witchcraft practices seeing in the controlling of nations and families.

5. All this power will I give thee for that is delivered unto me. Luke 4:6

This scripture shows you the satanic wiles along with 2 Cor. 2:11 which says, lest Satan should get an advantage of us for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Scripture warns us in Eph. 6:11 to put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We see in Revelation 12:9 the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan which deceiveth the whole world. He was cast out with the fallen angels into the earth.
In Luke 4:6 we see the devil trying to bestow/get Jesus to accept earthly honor with his scheming remarks.

EARTHLY HONOR CAN BE SEEN IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS.

Can be offered as a bribe. Num. 22:17
Can be given as a tribute to success or wealth. Job 29:8
It is transitory: “not permanent”
It can be made as a king’s gift. Dan. 2:6
It can be a hinderance to faith. John 5:44 (If you receive honor one from another, how can you believe if you seek not the honor that is from God)
Cursed it the man that puts his trust in man and seeks the honor and notoriety that comes from man and not God.
Another scripture confirming Satan’s power as seen in the above script can also be seen in Acts. 26:18 which says, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God that they may receive forgiveness of sins.
The entire world has been held captive by Satan. 1 John 5:19.

v. Satan’s Prince hood can be seen in Eph. 2:2, 2 Cor. 4:4

6. Used sorcery and bewitched the people of Samaria. Acts 8:9

Is referring to a man name Simon which beforetime in the city used sorcery and bewitched the people of Samaria giving out that he was some great one to whom the people gave heed from the least to the greatest.

The above statement shows the work of deceivers and deceit in operation. Ro. 16:18, 2 Cor. 11:13, Eph. 4:14
Deceivers as seen in Eph. 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, (spiritually immature and shallow) tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the slight of men and cunning craftiness where they lie in wait to deceive -GROW UP IN THE FAITH AND BECOME SPIRITUALLY STABLE.

DECEIT: The wicked is full of deceit; this can be seen in:

Their words. Ps. 36:8
Their counsels are evil. Prov. 12:5
Their kisses of full of betrayal and deceptive – with an evil heart.
Their houses. Jer. 25:7 (as a cage is full of birds, so are their houses are full of deceit, therefore are they become great and waxen rich)
Their hearts have become grossly evil and wicked. Mark 7:22

c) SELF-EXALTATION Isa. 14:13

Satan exalteth himself saying, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. Matt. 23:12
Here we see Simon practicing magic (Satan’s powers to control the whole city of Samaria)
Simon is seen in the above as practicing magic (Satan’s power in operation) and controlled the city of Samaria. He showed many signs and lying wonders which appeared to be miracles but really was not so, like those of the magicians of Egypt and those of the man of sin, mentioned in 2 Thess. 2:9, giving out the he himself was some great one – a person possessed of supernatural powers: he wished the people to believe so and to respect him accordingly. To whom as we see they all gave heed and much respect from the least to the greatest.

7. Damsel possessed with a spirit of divination brought her masters much gain by soothsaying. Acts 16:16

Again, we see here a manifestation of Satan’s power at work, a damsel possessed with a spirit of divination (In the Greek – a python spirit)
Brought her masters much gain by soothsaying.
Once more Satan’s power is seen in operation through divination and fortune telling.

8. Counted the price of books and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. Acts 19:19

This scripture along with verses 14-17 relates to a very significant scene that happened to the sons of Sceva which had the effect of bringing many individuals who were caught up in witchcraft to become believers who confessed and magnified the name of the Lord. Many bringing their curious arts and books and magic and burned them before all. The value of these books amounts to some fifty thousand pieces of silver, approximately 2,000 pounds (presuming it to be the Drachma, the current coin of the Levant, of about ten D value).
This scene was strong proof of honest conviction of sorcerers and a striking triumph of Jesus Christ over the powers of darkness. The workers of evil were put to scorn, like Baal’s priest on Mt. Carmel, and the word of God mightily grew and prevailed. Jamieson Fausset – Brown Bible Commentary

9. In whom the god of this world blinded the minds of them which believe not. 2 Cor. 4:4

This scripture describes the powerful effect Satan had upon mankind by placing a covering of spiritual darkness over the minds of humanity, that is, of them that believe not so that they would not get the opportunity to access the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God to shine on them.
Scripture bearing out the spiritual darkness can be seen in Jer. 50:6 My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains:
Ro. 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand, let us cast off the armor of darkness and let us put on the armor of light.
Eph. 6:10-12 Refers to Satan’s power again, we should take serious note of this scripture, for these are the powers that we are all up against.
SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS Eph. 4:18 Having their understanding darkened being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness that is in their heart.
GOD’S WORD IS A LIGHT – Ps. 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Brief Comment: The above passages of scripture makes clear Satan’s powers that are seen at work in the lives of the inhabitants of this earth. It is very evident that Satan has the power to blind millions of Christians also. Many are currently partially blinded as I speak.

10. Which have not known the depths of Satan. Rev. 2:24

a) Rev. 2:24 relates to the degradation of God’s people. Ezek. 16:6, 2 Peter 2:22.

We are also seeing the divine compassion of our Lord at work in Jer. 12:15 and Ps. 78:38 But he being full of compassion forgave their iniquity and destroyed them not, yea, many a time he turned his anger away and did not stir up all his wrath, we see here a long suffering Lord who forgives sins.
Benson’s Commentary on Rev. 2:24-25 But unto you I say who have not this doctrine of Jezebel and have not known the depths of Satan – the deep arts of deceit and error practiced in his kingdom, to bring in all sorts of corruption by teaching men to account things as indifferent and innocent that are really wicked and abominable; as they speak continually boasting of the deep things which they taught and as the Lord made out they were even deep as hell for they were the very depths of Satan. The Lord says I will put no more burden upon you than you have already suffered from Jezebel and her adherence, but will only confirm the laws of truth, righteousness and goodness given to make you free from the dominion of sin, the truest and most important liberty.
He admonishedthemsteadfastly practice the principle of faith, love and obedience until he comes to put and end to your trial and receive you into his heavenly paradise.

11. Souls of them that were slain for the Word of God. Rev. 6:9

Refers to the souls of them that were slain for the word of God. This scripture is making clear that every Christian who stands firm on the word of God and is unashamed to proclaim the full gospel of Jesus Christ will come under persecution for the name of Jesus but this is pleasing as we suffer for Christ. Ro. 8:17, Heb. 11:25, 1 Peter 2:20
1 Peter 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if when you do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable to God.
We must be ready and willing to witness as shown in Acts 2:32. This Jesus hath God raised up whereof we are all witnesses.
Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Rev. 6:9
Satan has the power to kill when God does not protect you. If you are to be slain for the name of Jesus, then you will be slain, if God has a further work for you to do, then he will protect you from those who would seek to destroy you. So prepare your hearts for whatever will be the case, making sure your are in righteous standing at all times.

12. The dragon gave him his power, seat and great authority. Rev. 13:2

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard and his feet was as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power and his seat and great authority.
Satan has great authority, and he can give this authority and power to whomever he chooses. Other scriptures supporting this script. Rev. 2:13 Dan 7:6

13. Merchants were great men of the earth: for by sorceries were all nations deceived. Rev. 18:23

Rev. 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in the and the voice of the bride groom and the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth: for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Merchants practiced witchcraft and deceived nations.

3. COMMENTS

Few Christians have come to grasp the overall nature of Satan’s conspiracy. This deals with occult sciences which is a very complicated system of witchcraft which is interconnected. There is a revival of the occult in America. The world’s religions and political entities are being fragmented, divided and conquered. Witchcraft is experiencing one of the greatest revivals in history around the world. There is vast scope and power of modern occultism. The world is apparently in the midst of what scripture calls the last days. Satan is mobilizing all his forces in world-wide conspiracy for a final all-out attack on the world and especially on God’s Church. Trauma-based occult mind control may be the greatest danger to the human race.

4. INFLUENCE ON CHRISTIANS

Demonic influences include spiritism, parapsychology, martial arts, occultism, oppression, psychic phenomena, deception, satanic ritual abuse, ancestral demons and seizures. The occult can cause a departure from the faith, open apostasy, doctrinal corruption, perversion of the truth, babel of the cults, Christian disunity, corrupt conduct and practice, indulging in defiling lust, ritualistic formalism, unbelief in God, suicide and insanity. Ungodly lifestyles can cause sexual promiscuity, racism, addiction to drugs, eating disorders, theological heresy and demonic meditation.

5. FALLING INTO SATAN’S TRAP

Many Christians are falling into Satan’s occult snare by consulting witches, mediums, clairvoyants and astrologers. Demonization of Christians includes violence, uncleanness, blasphemy and consistent failure in their Christian walk. Christians can compromise their beliefs, tamper with the occult, participate in idolatry and sin, be influenced, oppressed, vexed, depressed and bound by demons, have spiritual blindness, hardness of heart toward the Word of God and antagonism toward God.

6. DEMONIC LITERATURE

Destroy any books or material that you have which deals with the occult, witchcraft, sorcery, magic and related subjects, and any form of false religion or worship of Satan. It is all right to have books written by Christians about these subjects but not books written about how to practice these abominations. Christians should rid home and office of demonic materials, including objects and trinkets imported from lands where demonization is rampant; examples are astroguides, occult and witchcraft books, objects bearing symbols contrary to Christ, zodiac signs, Buddha, sun dials, inverted and broken crosses, swastika, Ankh, pentagram, talismans, amulets, Baphomet, hexagram, quarter moon, secret organizations, Free Masonry and good luck charms.

7. SATAN’S ABILITIES

Satan has wiles, cunning schemes and temptations, is dangerous and wicked, and causes moral and spiritual corruption. His methods are premeditated, systematic and methodical. He encourages lust for control and power, illusion and lies, secrecy and darkness, brutality, mind control and dog eat dog competition. The attack can vary in degree from mild influence (temptation) to full demonic possession. Demons can cause physical, mental and emotional oppressions, afflictions, sicknesses and illnesses; control the person’s mind and body; exhibit extremely immoral behavior and speech; have supernatural strength; and affect sub- or super-conscious minds. The Devil is so clever that he can make himself or his demons appear as angels of light. He creates superstition and idolatry. People call on the Devil to benefit from his powers.

8. POWERS OF DARKNESS

Powers of darkness include the occult, fortune-telling, spiritism, magic and false cults. Satan has a false gift for every true gift of God such as mockery, emotional or demonic tongues, false slain in the spirit, babbling with empty and fruitless conversation, and vain foolish talking. The highest Satanic power is the Illuminati with their Councils, occult network and thirteen bloodlines of German, Scottish, Italian and English families who use every demonic method to create a One-World Government and Dictator. Intelligence agencies act as occult cults in practicing mind control.

9. DEMON POSSESSION

Demoniacs have the incapacity for normal living, personality and behavior problems, phenomena of transference of spirits, opposition to the things of God, gifts of clairvoyance and foreign languages, and abnormal sex life. They suffer from chronic fears and loneliness, exhibit superhuman strength and violence, and get sudden deliverance.

10. THREE EYES OF SATAN

It has been reported that the Three Eyes of Satan are located in the Kremlin, Vatican and Brazil. God spiritually transported a man to these places and he saw that Communism, the Catholic Church, and Brazil (which is a stronghold of spiritualism and Macumba) were controlled by strong wizards. They had the ability to remove a person’s spirit and put a demon in its place to control that person.

11, EFFECT OF WITCHCRAFT

I have not been able to separate the interfaces between the different types of witchcraft and occult. Witchcraft has power to control and affect people, families, churches, cities and nations depending upon the legal rights Satan has. How many Christians, ministries and churches have been destroyed by witchcraft, and the people didn’t even know it?

14. WITCH AND WIZARD

Female and male, respectively, who practice white, grey or black magic. Anyone who uses clairvoyant or psychic powers such as ESP, mental telepathy, levitation of objects, astral projection. Witch (Sorcerer) – one who deals with evil spirits in order to work a spell on people, to practice magic, to whisper a spell, to enchant, to use witchcraft. Wizard (Clairvoyant or Physic) – male witch, conjurer, ghost prognosticator.

15. ENCHANTER (SONG SPELL OR AUGUR)

One who uses the human voice or music to bring another person under psychic control. Uses incantations and pronounces spells of evil spirits. Hypnosis and spell casting come under enchantments. To hiss, whisper a spell, prognosticate, divine, enchant, to practice magic, to cover, to cloud over, observe times. Enchantments – Practice of magical arts: Soothsayer, Sorcerer.

16. DIVINATION (FORTUNE TELLING)

A very general term taking in any supernatural process of gaining hidden knowledge that cannot be discerned through the natural mind or senses. For example, water-witching, mediums and horoscopes. Witchcraft, to distribute or determine by lot or magic scroll, to divine, soothsayer. Diviner – One who uses false means to discover the divine will of God.

The six forms of fortune telling are astrology (interpretation of human destiny), palmistry (the practice of reading palms), reading cards, psychometry (getting information from an object belonging to a person), crystal ball and Ouija Board.

17. CHARMER (SERPENT CHARMER)

The use of amulets, potions and symbols to hypnotize, cast spells, bring good luck, to charm away warts and diseases (Earline’s brother) and to give protection from evil. To fascinate, to spell, to join by spells, enchantment. Without a doubt includes hypnosis. Charming – To put a spell upon.

18. CONSULTER WITH FAMILIAR SPIRITS (MEDIUM)

A medium who uses a demon or evil spirit to tell them about the present or future of individuals, or the location of lost persons or objects. Familiar or Family Spirits. Mediumistic powers come by heredity and occult participation transference.

19. SORCERESS (PHARMAKIA)

Medical poisoner, magic, a druggist, a magician, oriental science. Indicates use of drugs and chemicals to produce stupor, spells, mind altering influences, such as smoking and drinking. Sorcery – Same as witchcraft.

20. NECROMANCY (SEANCE)

Communication with the dead. Necromancer (Familiar Spirit) – calls forth the spirits of the dead. This is a medium who consults a demon that mimics a dead person. The necromancer will often go into a trance and let the evil spirit take over his body and speak through him.

21. OBSERVER OF TIMES (SOOTHSAYER)

One who pretends to tell future events. The following of horoscopes, omens in the sky and nature, astrology and monthly prognostication. Star Gazing – prognostication and observing times.

22. OCCULT DECORATIONS

Room decor using oriental gods, zodiac signs, Aztec sun gods and other types of occult objects.

23. OCCULT TELEVISION

Television programs such as Night Gallery, Sixth Sense, Ghost Story, Kreskin and Bewitched. I no longer use a television set for programs; I only watch selected videos for ministry and business, and occasionally the news. What about today’s programs?

24. CHILDREN TO PASS THROUGH THE FIRE (ABORTION)

Priests burned children to death as a sacrifice to the fire gods. Abortion is a sacrifice to the gods of sex.

I am now closing any door I may have opened to you, Satan, through contact with witchcraft, occult, and similar activities. I am closing the door against all these things I know about and all the things I don’t know about. I renounce you and all your demons and I’m closing every door I may have opened. Christ redeems those who put their trust in Him. Jesus Christ became cursed on the cross for us and blotted out the handwriting of ordinances against us. We claim and apply these principles. We break the curses back to ten generations or even to Adam and Eve. All legal holds and legal grounds are removed in the Name of Jesus Christ.

We break all curses, spells, hexes, etc. sent upon us by envious enemies who seek to harm us or kill us or wreak havoc physically, emotionally, and/or spiritually. We bind and order any demons to come out of us and return to the senders escorted by angels to destroy that seat of witchcraft. The demons are commanded to confuse and sow terror and panic in the hearts of witches and warlocks.

Since we have power over the demons through Jesus’ Name, they are our slaves, and they must obey us as we command. We command the demons to attack their own works, to destroy each other and to shake the kingdom of evil to its very foundation. I ask and do these things in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

COMBINATION PRAYER AGAINST REJECTION, BITTERNESS AND REBELLION Almighty God, I forgive those who have rejected me, bitter against me, and have rebelled against me. Please forgive me for rejection, bitterness and rebellion against others. In the name of Jesus Christ, I command the spirits to come out of the unconscious, subconscious and conscious mind. Lord, remove the blockage and hurt from my life, so that your love can flow through me to impact the lives of others for you. Flood me with your love so that we can be confident and fearless. Continue to draw us with your loving kindness. Teach me O Lord to continue in your love and to lay down my life for those who rejected, were bitter and rebelled against me and the converse. Lord, I forgive them for having hurt me and I ask you to forgive me for having been bitter and for rejecting them in the name of Jesus Christ.

I now break the curse of rejection, bitterness and rebellion that has come against me and I command all the families of rebellion, rejection and bitterness and the other families to come out of me right now as your legal rights have been cancelled. PRAYERS BEFORE DELIVERANCE General – When finished praying the prayers you have selected, close them in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. The following prayers spoken by the deliverance worker are meant to be guidelines, not a firm ritual to be followed, and contain elements we have found to be important:

NOTE: For those who have not yet been saved, and anyone else that is unsure of his salvation, it is very necessary to recommit and invite Jesus to take up residence in your life before you engage the enemy in these serious warfare prayers. Prayer Before Deliverance (OPTION #2)

(Personal deliverance or mass deliverance)

We ask God to send the Holy Spirit, the seven-fold spirit of God, warrior angels, ministering angels and twelve legions of angels. We ask the warrior angels to come with their flaming, sharp two-edged swords capable of dividing spirit and soul.

We ask God to surround us, cut off communications between the demons outside and the demons inside, and remove loose demons around us.

We bind fallen angels and demons and loose ourselves from them. We call for spiritual warfare to set the captives free. We bind forces of evil, and loose forces of good that we have the power and authority to do so. In Jesus name I pray. (You can add into this prayer, Binding of Spirits)

We bind the spirits of: Leviathan, schizophrenia, double-mindedness, doubt, unbelief, confusion, deception, mind control, mind occult, Jezebel, death, witchcraft. For those with Roman Catholic connection: bind spiritual death, mind bondage, harlotry, brain washing, Babylon, false doctrine, religious deception, spiritual darkness, sorcery, quenching the spirit Matt. 16:19, Matt. 18:18.

STEP #2 Get the person to pray about their specific problems so that the blood of Jesus can cleanse the people and take away their legal rights that the demons have to remain so that God can act.

You must personally repent of your sins.

So what we’re going to do right now, we’re going to break the stronghold of death in our lives and we’re also going to break the curse of premature death. We’re going to break the assignments of premature death against us.

Heavenly Father, I repent of all my sins and the sins of my forefathers and foremothers back to the third, the fourth, even the tenth generation, and beyond. I ask for forgiveness for my involvement in the occult, witchcraft, divination, scheming to murder, poisoning, infanticide, killing of family members (brothers, sisters, parents, children, and all other relatives), abortion, miscarriage, birth control that control fertilized eggs, adultery, ceremonial or ritualistic sacrifices. I nullify and renounce all invitations of death spirits into the family line. Also renounce death of man and death of: body, career, creativity, Relationships, blessings, happiness, spiritual life, joy, freedom, honor, marriage, spiritual riches, future, vision, prosperity, purpose, design, goals, desires of the heart. I repent and break all curses of: false martyrdom and dead works. Lord Jesus, we ask that you send the gifts of the Holy Spirit as needed to minister to the needs of the people and to accomplish what you want done here tonight. We are careful to give you all the glory, honor, praise and credit for everything that is said or done. We ask all these things in the blessed name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Master and Savior. Generally, the right to remain, has to do with what other people have done to that person or what the person has done to himself.
The most common ground is un-forgiveness, sins of ancestors or anyone who had authority over that person or the personal sins of that person.

NOTE: USING A THESAURUS IN DELIVERANCE IS VERY EFFECTIVE

Demons tend to cluster in family groupings.
The Thesaurus can be amazingly helpful as an instrument to identify demons within a specific category.
When the spirit is forced to manifest his name, located in the thesaurus, it becomes a tool to uncover his supportive network of demons. This method has been tried and proven; many hard cases have been successfully dealt with through this means.

Many words that we use to describe sexual sins, diseases and impurities are not found in the King James Bible; it is necessary to look for other words God used to describe these actions. You will find words like fornication, adultery, effeminate, abusers, Sodomites, sensual, carnal, concupiscence, inordinate, lasciviousness, lewdness, filthy, blasphemy, murder, killing, uncleanness, lust, passions, bastard, dreams, prostitute, harlot, whore, and lovers of pleasure. A study was made of the following words: ravished, forced, shame, folly, lay, lie, defiled and some key stories of the Bible.

BIBLE STORIES

God has given us some graphic stories which illustrate what are abominations to Him and what the consequences are of these sexual sins. These are about Ammon and Tamar, Shechem and Dinah, Lot and daughters, and Reuben and concubine.

5. SEXUAL HARASSMENT – ABUSE ASSAULT – VIOLENCE

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Sexual harassment is unwanted, deliberate or repeated sexual behavior: comments, gestures or touching. The person hearing, seeing or being touched does not want this attention and is frequently uncomfortable and embarrassed. Sexually suggestive objects, signs, magazines or pictures may be sexual harassment, too.

Sexual harassment can also be unlawful sex discrimination if there is a subtle or direct threat that a sexual or social relationship is part of your job or your educational performance. The threat can be about any part of your job: wages, promotions, REFERENCES, working conditions; or your educational performance: grades, honors, course work, scholarships.

SEXUAL ABUSE

Indicators from the child’s behavior: visible emotional distress; fear of specific persons; regression into outgrown behavior, such as bed-wetting or thumb sucking; complaints of abdominal pain or sore throat; fear of going to bed or of sleeping alone; poor concentration and short attention span, especially at school; withdrawal from others; foreign objects collected from the child’s clothing or body; running away; alcohol and substance abuse.

Your child may be very upset. Your child may have disturbed sleeping patterns such as nightmares, fear of going to bed, fear of sleeping alone or bed-wetting, loss of appetite, irritable nature and lose patience easily, more temper tantrums, the wish to withdraw from usual activities, difficulty at school such as poor concentration, short attention span and loss of interest in classroom activities.

When you take the child to a doctor, hospital or clinic, you may be given other information which might serve to corroborate sexual abuse: a description of injuries to the child, results of laboratory tests and examinations for spermatozoa or seminal fluid, results of tests for sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy, posttraumatic stress disorder.

What is child sexual abuse? Since childhood sexual curiosity is normal, it is important to understand what is meant by child sexual abuse. The victim can be found in all social and economic levels and in all ethnic groups.

In the broadest sense of the term, child sexual abuse may refer to any situation of forcible sexual activity involving a child sixteen years old or younger: sexual contact between a child and another person in which threats, bribery or similar methods are used to get the child to participate; any sexual contact between a child and an adult; sex crimes against children such as rape, fondling, incest, molestation, exhibitionism, sodomy, childhood pornography and child prostitution.

Sexual abuse is seductive behavior; indecent exposure; sexual touching, fondling or game playing; oral, anal or vaginal intercourse. Boys as well as girls may have been sexually abused. Incidents may have occurred just once or many times.

Sexually transmitted diseases: gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes genitalis, Chlamydia trachomatis, venereal warts, Trichomoniasis, Gardnerella, human immune deficiency virus.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Sexual assault (and sexual abuse) are terms that refer to sexual contact without your consent. Rape, incest, attempted rape and unwanted sexual touch are often called sexual assault.

What are the facts about sexual assault? There is no typical victim: anyone can be a victim of sexual assault. A woman is raped every six minutes. In a single year, over 90,000 women in the United States report a rape to law enforcement officials. Only one out of every ten rapes is reported. Sexual assault is not sex. Sexual assault is a violent abuse of power. Sexual assault victims need your support.

What are the facts about child sexual assault? One in three females will be sexually assaulted by age 18. One in six males will be sexually assaulted by age 18. A large majority of child sexual assault cases are not reported. Ninety percent of sexually assaulted children are assaulted by someone they know. Child sexual assault is not sex. Child sexual assault is a violent abuse of power. Child sexual assault victims need your support. In the United States, a child is sexually victimized in some way, every two minutes. It is estimated that only one out of every ten cases is reported; so that each year, there may be between 200,000 to 500,000 child victims of sexual abuse.

Facts: Statistics indicate that more than one-third of all rapes take place in the victim’s home and over half of the attackers are known to the women who become their victims. Researchers estimate the actual number of rapes to be approximately four times the reported number, or one quarter of a million rapes per year. Sixty to seventy-five percent of all rapes are planned in advance. Eighty-five percent of all rapes are accompanied by violence or the threat of violence.

There is no single reaction to the experience of sexual assault, but there are common patterns of response. The return to trust may be a long and arduous process. The reactions of family and friends to the rape victim have a strong effect on her recovery from crisis. Doctors, police and attorneys in many states have joined together to support the victim as she moves through the system of justice. Community rape crisis centers provide support to the victim.

SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Domestic violence is the intimidation and physical abuse of one family or household member by another. This abuse may range from harassment to battery to murder.

Violence: Acceptable behavior toward women? Every eighteen seconds a woman is beaten or abused by someone she loves. Both domestic violence and sexual assault have a long history as acceptable behavior toward women. Both are violent crimes and women share with the victims of other types of violent crimes the feelings of helplessness and loss of control which are typical responses.

Women may be assaulted or abused, not as individual persons, but for what they represent. Violence toward women is most appropriately viewed as the historical and current expression of male dominance.

Both of these crimes against women may be seen as a show of masculinity motivated by power and anger with the purpose of controlling or dominating the victim. There is no “typical victim” of sexual assault or domestic violence, there are only women who unwittingly become caught in a brutal power game over which they feel little or no control.

Domestic Violence: The denial surrounding domestic violence is astonishing given its long history and acceptance by society. Researchers estimate that one and a half to three million women are beaten each year. This means that domestic violence occurs in one out of every four homes. And forty percent of all the women who are murdered annually are killed by their husbands or boyfriends. Physical abuse is happening all the time to all kinds of women. It cuts across economic, social and ethnic lines. And the man who beats his partner could be any man. He beats her not because she provokes him or because she deserves it, but because he can get away with it. The notion of women as property, the idea that a man may chastise his wife to keep her “in line” is inherent in this socially accepted violence. The abused woman is the victim of a violent crime, but she may have no other place to go.

The battered woman lives in fear. If she tries to defend herself, the violence may escalate. If she leaves, she may be pursued and beaten even more brutally as punishment for her flight. The abused woman is trapped in her violent home. They are truly not responsible for their partners’ violence.

A battered woman soon learns that any action on her part can be the excuse for a violent episode. The battered woman may have seen violence in her family. Afraid to leave and afraid to stay, tied economically and emotionally to the abuser, the battered woman may slip into despair.
