Simple Truths
- God loves you and cares about every part of your life.
- Sin and wrong choices can open doors to pain and trouble, but God is always ready to forgive and help us when we turn to Him.
- When we cry out to God, He hears us and comes to our rescue.
(Psalm 107:13–14)
God Heals and Delivers Us through his Word
Psalm 107:20
“He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”
God knows that life can be painful and confusing. We face sickness, fear, brokenness, and situations we don’t understand. But this verse reminds us of a beautiful truth: God uses His Word to bring healing and freedom into our lives.
God’s Word is not just something to read, it is alive and powerful. When God speaks, things change. When we listen to His Word, believe it, and hold onto it, His healing and peace begin to work in our lives.
Even when we don’t feel strong in our faith, God is still faithful. He does not wait for us to be perfect. He responds when we come to Him with an open heart and simple trust.
Will Christians Have Problems?
Yes. Even people who love God go through hard times.
Psalm 34:19
“Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
This means:
- Problems are a part of life
- Loving God does not mean life will be easy
- But God promises to help us and bring us through every situation
How God Brings Healing and Freedom
God wants us to receive what He has promised. Here are simple steps you can follow to receive healing and deliverance:
1. Read God’s Word
The Bible is full of God’s promises. When you read them, they build your faith.
Some simple verses to read and declare over your life:
- Isaiah 53:5 – Jesus was wounded so we could be healed
- Psalm 103:3 – God forgives our sins and heals our diseases
- Psalm 147:3 – God heals the broken-hearted
Prayer Approach
- Begin by reading these Scriptures out loud. God’s Word carries authority when it is spoken.
- Write the Scriptures out in full, declaring them personally over your life and situation.
- Personalize the Word by inserting your name and specific circumstances where appropriate.
- Take authority over the situation by speaking in the first person. When you do this, you are engaging in spiritual warfare, standing on the authority Christ has given you.
- As you speak God’s Word, you are confronting the enemy directly and making it clear that you know your authority and will not retreat. The enemy has no choice but to release you and flee when faced with faith-filled, authoritative declaration.
- Speak with confidence and persistence. Authority is exercised, not wished for.
- These three Scriptures are a starting point. Over time, continue to build your own list of Scriptures to stand on as your faith grows.
2. Believe What God Says
God’s Word is true. Believe that He wants to help you and that He has the power to heal and set you free.
3. Talk to God (Pray with Authority)
Prayer is simply talking to God.
However, there are times when prayer must be authoritative and forceful, based on the authority Christ has given you.
When confronting the enemy, you are not begging or hoping. You are standing in your God-given authority and enforcing what Jesus has already accomplished.
An Example of Praying With Authority
Jeremiah 51:20 (paraphrased):
“Lord, Your Word declares that I am Your battle axe and weapon of war. Through You, I break in pieces evil powers and destroy the works of darkness.”
Example of an authoritative prayer:
In the name of Jesus Christ, I stand in the authority You have given me. As Your weapon of war, I confront every evil power working against me in this situation. I bind every force of darkness and command it to rise up and leave my life now. You have no authority here. I declare freedom, healing, and restoration according to God’s Word, in Jesus’ name.
Applying This to Your Situation
Be specific. For example, if you are dealing with lingering effects from surgery:
- List the symptoms or side effects you are experiencing
- Speak directly to them in the name of Jesus
- Command every spirit behind those symptoms to leave
- Declare healing, strength, and restoration over your body according to God’s Word
You are not asking the enemy to leave, you are commanding it to go, based on the authority Christ has given you.
A Word of Encouragement
This kind of prayer may feel unfamiliar at first. That’s okay. Start where you are. As you grow in faith and understanding, praying this way will become more natural and confident.
Also note: Gentle prayers of asking are not always sufficient for this level of spiritual warfare. When confronting the enemy, you must assume your authority and act on it. This is your responsibility as a believer, not something you ask the Lord to do for you.
A Simple Prayer (for Beginners or Daily Prayer)
This prayer is helpful for daily communion with God, but it is not a warfare prayer:
“God, I come to You in Jesus’ name. I believe You love me. I ask You to heal me and help me. Thank You for caring for me.”
Both types of prayer have their place, relationship and authority and wisdom is knowing when to use each.
4. Speak God’s Word
Say God’s promises out loud. For example:
“Jesus paid the price for my healing.”
“God is helping me and setting me free.”
5. Thank God
Always thank God, even before you see the answer. Thankfulness shows faith and trust.
6. Trust God’s Timing
Sometimes God answers right away. Sometimes it takes time.
But God is always faithful, and He never forgets His promises.
Good News to Remember
- God is with you
- You are not alone
- Jesus has already won the victory
- God’s Word has power to heal and restore
Isaiah 54:17
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”
Encouragement
If you are hurting today: physically, emotionally, or spiritually, know this:
- God sees you
- God cares about you
- God is able to help you
You may still face challenges, but God promises to bring you through them. Healing may come quickly or over time, but God never forgets His people.
Keep reading your Bible. Keep praying. Keep trusting God.
As you grow in your faith, you will see God working more and more in your life.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for sending Your Word to heal and restore me. I trust You with my life and my needs. Help me to believe Your promises and to rest in Your peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
