Healing and Deliverance Through the Word
Psalm 107:20 – “He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”
This verse reveals a powerful truth: God releases healing and deliverance through His Word. Healing is not accidental it is accessed by responding rightly to what God has already spoken.
Foundational Truths for Healing and Deliverance
- Satanic bondage often rooted in unrepented sin opens the door to affliction in various areas of life.
(See Psalm 107:10–11; Psalm 107:17) - Healing and deliverance begin with acknowledgment, confession, repentance, and crying out to the Lord.
(1 John 1:9; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalm 107:13, 19) - God responds with delivering power when His people cry out to Him.
(Psalm 107:14)
Understanding God’s Promise of Deliverance
Psalm 34:19 – “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
This verse teaches us:
- Afflictions are normal, even for the righteous
- Righteousness does not exempt us from hardship, pain, or trials
- God’s deliverance is certain, though it may not always be immediate or according to our timing
God’s promise is not the absence of trouble but deliverance out of every trouble.
How to Actively Claim God’s Promise
Psalm 107:20
You must actively receive, believe, and declare God’s Word. Healing and deliverance are not passive experiences; they require faith-filled participation.
This includes:
- Attending to Scripture
- Praying in faith
- Confessing God’s Word
- Giving thanks
- Positioning yourself to receive His promised healing and deliverance from all forms of destruction
Steps to Secure Healing and Deliverance
1. Attend to His Word
Actively seek God’s promises concerning healing, deliverance, and restoration. Keep them before your eyes, in your heart, and on your lips.
Scriptures to Stand On:
Isaiah 53:5 “…with His stripes we are healed.”
Psalm 103:1–4 Bless the Lord, O my soul… who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction…
Other reference scriptures:
- Isaiah 10:27
- Mark 16:18
- Jeremiah 17:14
- Psalm 147:3
Practical instruction:
Print these scriptures. Read them aloud. Pray the prayer of faith while standing on God’s Word. Maintain righteous living and separate yourself from the goals, ideals, and passions of this world.
2. Recognize the Authority You’ve Been Given
As a believer, you have authority over the works of the enemy.
Luke 10:18–19 “…I give you power… over all the power of the enemy…”
Luke 9:1–2 “…He gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.”
Matthew 10:7–8. “…Heal the sick… cast out devils…”
Luke 4:18 (paraphrased)
Jesus was anointed to heal, deliver, and set captives free and this mission continues through His disciples.
While God gives specific gifts according to His will (1 Corinthians 12), every believer walks in authority through Christ.
Jeremiah 1:10; 1:19; 51:20
These verses remind us that God empowers His people to confront, tear down, and overcome the works of darkness and the enemy will not prevail.
3. Believe and Receive
Do not only hear the Word, receive it by faith. God’s Word carries power to heal and deliver, even in the most challenging circumstances.
4. Confess and Speak God’s Word
Open your mouth. Speak God’s healing promises aloud over your body, mind, and situation. Your confession reshapes your atmosphere and aligns your faith with God’s truth.
5. Pray With Expectation
Ask God for healing in Jesus’ name. Believe you receive as you pray. Guard your mind against doubt.
6. Give Thanks Always
Gratitude unlocks God’s blessings. Thank Him for His goodness, mercy, and deliverance, before, during, and after the manifestation.
7. Align Your Actions With Your Faith
Let your actions match your prayers. Live in obedience, righteousness, and faith. When your words, beliefs, and lifestyle align with God’s Word, you position yourself to receive His promises of restoration; spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Encouragement
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper…” — Isaiah 54:17
“…If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” — 1 John 5:14
Stand on His Word. Be encouraged. God is faithful to heal, deliver, and restore.
